PREGNANT & POSTNATAL BRIDESMAIDS

All our designs can be made to accommodate a growing bump, or a postnatal mama whether you have a bridesmaid who is early stages of pregnancy at your wedding right to almost full term or even recently given birth we can accommodate for them as best we can. There are various situations that we have encountered, and we have been able to work out a system where we can accommodate our made to measure service no matter the circumstances of your bridesmaids. Below are our most asked questions which I hope are helpful.

I have a bridesmaid that is due her baby just weeks before my wedding, what should we do regarding her measurements?

In this instance it would be your bridesmaid’s decision as to what she you would like to do with regards to sizing of her bridesmaid dress, my advice is to have the dress made slightly bigger than her pre pregnancy UK dress size/body measurements. We would need the measurements for this dress 8 WEEKS before your wedding date, and you will receive the dress 4 weeks before your wedding allowing time for any potential alterations. If your bridesmaid has told you her amazing news early on in her pregnancy it is best to consider taking her body measurements before she starts to show so you have a guideline (if she is comfortable with this) and then 8 weeks before your wedding you can both decide if she would like to go off the measurements you already took or if she wants to increase or decrease any of the measurements.

We require 4 weeks production lead time on single dresses.

I have a bridesmaid that will be heavily pregnant at my wedding, what can we do?

In this instance we will need your pregnant bridesmaids’ measurements with your other bridesmaids 18 weeks before your wedding so that we have her accurate length and a guideline to monitor her growth. 8 weeks before your wedding we will just ask you/your pregnant bridesmaid to remeasure her BUST, UNDER BUST (instead of waist), BUMP & BUM to determine growth and establish how to cut the dress. There will still be room for extra growth in the dress with our signature maternity ruching (available in any skirt design)

I have a bridesmaid that is currently pregnant but her baby is due when my bridesmaids are meant to be getting measured, what can we do regarding her measurements?

In this instance we can leave the production of their dress until 8 weeks before your wedding, at which we will either need her body measurements or a UK dress size confirmed by her to make her dress. We require 4 weeks production lead time on single dresses. It is you and your bridesmaids decision what sizing or measurements you would like us to make her dress to. Please remember our fabrics are stretch based so there is room for fluctuation.

I have already ordered my dresses and my bridesmaids have been measured for their dresses but one of my bridesmaids has just told me that she is pregnant, what can we do?

Once measurements have been submitted all orders go immediately into our production like so unfortunately there isn't anything we can do to change the production of her dress, it is highly likely that the patterns will have already been cut within the first week of measurement submission.

If we are notified about a pregnancy before measurements have been provided we are able to pull her fabric to one side and delay her dress if you both believe there is going to be substantial growth, there would be a handling fee of £20 to accomodate for this special service, we will hold off with the dress in production and then 8 WEEKS before your wedding you will need to re-check her BUST, UNDER BUST, BUMP, BUM measurements and when re-confirming the updated measurements your bridesmaid can confirm if she believes she would benefit from maternity ruching in her skirt if she is showing a considerable amount, if she is not showing much 8 WEEKS before your wedding we can make the dress as normal just to the updated measurements
