What you'll do.

We’re looking for someone with strong garment knowledge to help support the technical side of Bridesmaid by JB as the business continues to grow.

This role sits between design, pattern, fit and production. You’ll help us make sure ideas translate into garments that are practical to produce, beautifully balanced and consistent in fit.

You’ll work closely with our founder, cutting and production teams to develop, refine and maintain the standards behind every Bridesmaid by JB design.

Your day could include

• Working with existing Bridesmaid by JB patterns and helping maintain accuracy and consistency.
• Supporting the development of new designs from concept through to production.
• Reviewing garment fit, proportion, balance and construction.
• Helping refine patterns following fittings and sample reviews.
• Translating fit observations into practical pattern or garment adjustments.
• Working alongside cutting and sewing teams to resolve technical garment questions.
• Supporting made-to-measure production and understanding how individual measurements affect garment fit.
• Helping document pattern, fit and construction information as Bridesmaid by JB continues to systemise its production knowledge.
• Reviewing samples and identifying potential improvements before designs move fully into production.
• Helping maintain consistency across our range of styles, silhouettes and customisation options.

We'd love to meet someone who

• Has a strong understanding of garment construction.
• Understands pattern cutting, fit and garment balance.
• Can look at a finished garment and understand why it is fitting the way it is.
• Has excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Understands how fabric behaviour can affect fit and construction.
• Is comfortable working between creative ideas and technical solutions.
• Can communicate clearly with sewing, cutting and production teams.
• Is organised and comfortable documenting technical information.
• Would enjoy helping build stronger systems around the technical knowledge inside a growing independent fashion brand.

Experience

We’re open to candidates from a range of technical garment backgrounds.

You may have experience in pattern cutting, garment technology, product development, sample development, bridal, occasionwear, womenswear or fashion production.

Experience with made-to-measure garments or working from individual customer measurements would be particularly useful, but isn’t essential if your broader garment knowledge is strong.

Pattern knowledge

We’re particularly interested in people who understand patterns practically — not simply how to draft one, but how changes to a pattern affect the finished garment.

You should be comfortable thinking about shape, ease, proportion, balance, seam placement and fit across different body measurements.

Hours & pay

Hours: Full time, hours to be discussed
